Leather Shoes

A quick brushing will remove most dirt and mud.
An occasional application of shoe polish is also advised.

Patent Leather Shoes

All that is required to maintain the shine is a wipe with a damp cloth.

Suede Shoes

These shoes need to be washed with a wet cloth and some Marseilles soap. A fine sheet of sandpaper, metal brush, or a small rubber block are good for removing stains. Spraying with a weather proofer is a great preventative measure.

Canvas Shoes

Machine washing is not recommended. Completely immersing a shoe in water could remove the glue between the sole and the uppers. The best method of cleaning is a damp cloth and some Marseilles soap.

Drying Shoes

Drying Shoes that have just been washed or are damp from rain or perspiration should be dried following these recommendations: - Never dry shoes near a radiator or with a hair dryer. This causes them to wrinkle and lose their flexibility. - Leave shoes out to dry in the open air out of the direct sunlight. - Stuffing the shoes with tissue or newspaper will help them keep their shape.

Quick Cleaning Tip!

We have found that baby wipes are great for emergency or spot cleaning all types of shoes!
